This year the best designed newspapers in Europe come from Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and Greece. A total of 236 newspapers from 27 countries participated in the 10th European Newspaper Award (eighth competition 287 participants, ninth 288).

The winners of the main prizes
Due to the great differences in local newspapers, regional newspapers, national newspapers and weeklies, the main prizes are awarded in four categories. The following received awards at the 10th European Newspaper Award for best design and concept:

Europe’s Local Newspaper of the Year:

Europe’s Regional Newspaper of the Year:
Basler Zeitung, Switzerland

Europe’s National Newspaper of the Year:
Svenska Dagbladet, Stockholm, Sweden

Europe’s Weekly Newspaper of the Year:
Athens Plus, Athens, Greece
